Life is best lived in community. In Chi Alpha you will find college-age men and women who are at once wrestling to become who we are (through school or work or life experience), and connecting with God. You’ll probably find people who are in all kinds of stages of both pursuits: self-discovery and God-discovery.
We get that question a lot and understandably so. We are actually a campus ministry but we have students involved in our group that are also involved in athletics, greek organizations, choirs and lots of other groups. Before you ask, I bet we can guess your next question. What’s with the name? We know, it can be confusing.
Here’s the story. In the Bible, the apostle Paul wrote the following in 2 Corinthians 5:20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For us, our name is our constant reminder that each of us has a real part to play in this world. We each can carry Him within us to bring Him closer to the people around us.
Core groups are a great way to make some new friends, learn to study the Bible, and get plugged into Chi Alpha. A Core Group is a small group of men or women who meet weekly for worship, Bible study, and fun. Core groups are the nucleus where community is formed in Chi Alpha.
